Beauty Resolutions For 2014

2014 is finally here!!!   This year I’ve chosen 6 beauty resolutions I know I can commit to. Here are 6 simple beauty resolutions that you can try this year.

1. Drink more water

Drinking lots of water is key to any beauty routine for whole body health. Get a reusable water bottle or tall glass to keep filled and with you throughout the day.  Every time you get up to walk around or go to the bathroom, refill that bottle or glass so that it will never be empty.  If you exercise you’ll need a bit more water to replenish what you’ve lost through sweat.  Keeping yourself hydrated is key.  Water will keep things moving on the inside and you looking great on the outside.

2. Wear SPF daily

We all know we should wear SPF but how many of us do on a daily basis?   How can we make this practice easy and automatic for ourselves?  Choose a facial moisturizer that contains SPF 15-30.  Check out this link to the  SPF 101 video I did  that will explain how to choose an SPF that is right for you.  Remember you need to have SPF protection even in the winter, so apply your SPF moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and protected.

3. Try a new look

How often do we change things around and try something new??  It’s so easy to rock the same old hair style or makeup look week after week because it’s easy. Try a new look that you’ve been putting off or were too afraid to try.  This year, make small changes or additions to your style by doing things like wearing a different color lipstick, adding a hair extension or wear eyelashes. The sky is the limit! There are lots of places to look for inspiration like online beauty blogs, YouTube or even right here in COCO Magazine.  Experiment to see what looks best on you and then show it off to the world.

4. Remove Makeup At Night

We’ve all gone to bed with makeup on our face at some time or other in our lives, but that doesn’t make it right. Commit to taking your makeup off at night to let you skin breath and be free of all the dirt and oil of the day. I know there are nights when you are just too tired to take all that makeup off, but using an oil based makeup remover can make things quick and easy and have you in bed in a snap.

5. Chipped Nail Polish

This is the hardest one for me. There is nothing worst that spending time doing your manicure only have it ruined after a couple of days or by the end of the week.  Here’s a great tip I read online, applying glitter nail polish over your chipped polish will conceal any minor chips or imperfections. This saves you time and you nails will sparkle

6. Makeup Drawer/Bag Clean up

It can be hard to part with makeup products you LOVE but if its 1-2 yrs. old or more and that number is way too long if it’s going on your eyes, it really is time to throw it in the trash! Expired makeup can cause infections, acne, rashes and other skin irritations that you just don’t need.  So lets start out the New Year with fresh new products for our skin.
